Area Sales Manager

Equashield is a growing medical device company leading the US market in closed system 
transfer devices (CSTDs). Our mission is to provide superior solutions for the protection of 
healthcare workers worldwide. 
We are seeking experienced sales professionals who can contribute to our high performing sales 
organization by effectively achieving business objectives for the team. This position reports to a 
Regional Sales Manager and is responsible for building new relationships with potential 
customers while expanding relationships with existing accounts. Weekly travel to client sites 
within the territory is required. 

 

Summary of Detailed Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed regional sales quota for Equashield products.
  • Create and implement effective direct sales strategies toward achievement of corporate
    sales objectives.
  • Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales
    organization.
  • Proactively identify changes in healthcare, delivery systems, and competitive pressures to
    develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts.
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Managers and the Manager of Corporate and Strategic
    Accounts in the development of key customer relationship.
  • Negotiate purchase agreements with the assistance of the National Sales Manager.
  • Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing,
    Finance, Customer Service, etc.) to address key business needs and opportunities.
  • Maintain competitive knowledge of all CSTDs on the market to create and adjust sales
    strategies.
  • Attend sales meetings, clinical meetings, seminars, and conferences as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales plans.
  • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business
    and P&L to meet objectives.
  • Strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management
    skills.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare and regulatory requirements and issues.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to effectively present information and negotiate with all levels of management
    including CFO, CIO, CEO, CMO.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation skills and oral and written communication skills.
  • Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency in excel,
    word and outlook).
  • A solid understanding of the CSTD (Closed System Transfer Device) market; including
    trends, technologies, products, and players is preferred but not required
